Rival's Duel 12- Navigating the Deadeye Problem
Welcome to another edition of Rival’s Duel. This week, the rivals
Eric and Nole take on a single card that seems to be on everyone’s
radar, yet seems to dodge the banhammer. They are looking at Deadeye
Navigator and whether or not it deserves to be banned (I’ll give you a
hint: the host that doesn’t play blue wants it gone). They also talk
about FTV: Annihilation and MTG Conspiracy. As always, fell shownotes
after Rakdos the Clickable

90 Minutes with Nole- Why We play Commander
So earlier this week I wrote an article called "90 Minutes with Nole- Why we play Commander" for Commandercast. I rather enjoyed how it turned out, so I may continue to do them here on this site (Yay for exclusive content for Rival's Duel fans). In case you missed it, here is the one I wrote, as originally published on Commandercast.com on 2/25/14.
-Nole
Editor’s Note: So it’s been a while since I’ve put pen to paper for the site, and seeing as how we don’t have anyone else swimming in the pool today, looks like I’ll be writing tonight. This is an idea I’ve had bouncing around inside my head for a while, but have never put pen to paper. For the record, the time is now 90 minutes till this article has to go live. Consider this a thought experiment, can I put out something both worth reading and comprehensible is 90 minutes? You’ll have to let me know in the comments below.
(I’ll keep you posted on the clock as it ticks down: 80 minutes remaining)

Rival's Duel 11- Children of the Lesser Gods
It’s time for another episode of Rival’s Duel. This week, Eric and
Nole give you their take on Born of the Gods, from the ones we are super
excited to play, to the ones that give us a migraine just thinking
about them. They also talk about the EDH rules committee’s latest swing
on the banhammer as well as answer some listener e-mail. As always,
Shownotes after the break.

Rival’s Duel 10- Cat-mandercast
Welcome to another episode of Rival’s Duel. This week Eric and Nole
are on the hunt for the Purr-fect commander as they debate who is the
best Legendary cat. They also look at the 7 new legendary creature in
born of the gods. Is this all a ploy to cash-in on the internets’ love
of all things feline? You’ll have to listen and find out. As always,
shownotes after Rakdos the Clickable.

Rivals Duel 9- Timely And Other Things This Podcast Is Not
Welcome back to another season or Rival’s Duel. With the holiday
hiatus behind us, the Rival’s Eric and Nole are playing catch up with
all the stuff that has happened in the world of MTG, including baseless
Born of the Gods speculation, a new Planeswalker, and an argument about
the changes to the card frame. As always, shownotes and more after
Rakdos the Clickable.
Rival’s Duel 8- General Face Off: Christmas Edition
Welcome to the Special Christmas edition of Rival’s Duel: To get you
in the spirit of the Holiday, this week the Rivals Eric and Nole are
debating (kinda) which is the better gift-giver General, Zedruu the
Greathearted or the magical purple hippo phelddagrif. They also spend
some time answering a letter from a fan, by taking a second look at the
Gods of Theros. Since you won’t be hearing from us for the rest of the
year, we make sure to give you lots to think about. Consider this a
double helping (and double sized) edition of Rival’s Duel. As always,
Show notes after Rakdos the clickable.

Rival’s Duel 7- Boros Baby!!
Hello Everyone! after a slight delay (mmmm turkey coma). The Rivals
Eric and Nole are back. This week, they are looking at Boros,
specifically how best to build this. Both Eric and Nole agree that
Boros’ biggest problem is keeping cards coming into your hand, however
they have very different ways of overcoming that hurdle. We also talk
some of our favorite Boros cards and spend a lot of time on how bad
Razia is. As always, full shownotes after Rakdos the Clickable.

Rival’s Duel 6- New Cards and Fake Cards
To celebrate Commander 2013 week. The Rivals Eric and Nole take a
look at the 51 new cards in the precons, as well as spend time talking
about proxys (We also have the first ever instance of a bleeped word on
Rival’s Duel. Spoiler: It involved Eric and a Blue card.) As always,
shownotes after Rakdos the Clickable.

Rival’s Duel 5- What the Tuck?
Rival’s Duel Episode 4- General face off: Esper Edition
Hello Everyone! Welcome to another edition of Rival’s Duel. This
week, Eric and Nole take a look at the sweet newly spoiled generals for
the fall commander product as well as have an argument about who is more
powerful/scary, with Nole choosing Zur the Enchanter and Eric choosing Sharuum the Hegemon. Who do you think is better? Let us know in the comments below. As always, shownotes after Rakdos the Clickable.

Rival’s Duel Episode 3- Gods, Bacon, and 1v1 Commander
Rival’s Duel Episode 1: Commander Face off (Simic Edition)
Hello everyone and welcome to our first schedueled edition of Rival’s
Duel, the podcast where Eric argues that anything is permissible and
Nole argues that it’s not. This week we are answering one of the most
common questions that gets asked in commander. That question is “What is
the least fun general to play against in a certain color combination?”
This week we are looking at Simic and whether Momir Vig or Edric is
worse to play against. Give us a listen and let us know what you think.
Shownotes and contact information after the break.
Rival's Duel 0: The Enrivaling
Hello Everyone! Due to some technical issues, the episode of
Commandercast that was supposed to appear today will not be shown.
Instead, Please enjoy this new podcast called Rivals Duel, hosted by
Commandercasts’ own Nole Clauson (of (Social) Contract from Below) and
Eric Bonvie (of (Vexing) Devil’s Advocate). This duo will be appearing
every other week here on commandercast.com to (amongst other things)
debate one topic concerning commander. This weeks topic is: “Which is
worse to play against: Mana Denial or Ramp?” (Other topics include
FtV:$$$, the newly spoiled Commanders for the new precons, and other
general goofing around.) Give it a listen and let us know what you think
about our sweet new podcast!
